日本画専攻では

日本画における絵画表現は千数百年前から連綿と積み重ねられている伝統的なものです。日本画は、鉱石を砕いて作った岩絵具という粒子の粗い絵具を、接着剤である膠(にかわ)と混ぜて画面に描いていく、日本で千数百年続いてきた絵画表現です。岩絵具の持つ輝きに魅了された学生が日々制作活動に励んでいます。

日本画専攻の特色のひとつは、個人指導に重点を置いた少人数教育にあります。4学年の学生合計40名に対して、専任教員6名、非常勤講師約30名が指導にあたっており、1対1の個人指導を基本としています。

Aichi University of the Arts offers an unique program to study Japanese style painting

In Japan we can see traditional knowledge and skills passed down from generation to generation over a thousand years. The culture fostered under the peculiar conditions or circumstances in Japan have much to do with the traditional succession.

In Japanese style painting there is a great number of various artistic sense and knowledge we can cultivate through the succession. Furthermore we often experience a chance that reminds us of an old saying; learning from the past is very important.

At BA Japanese style Painting of Aichi University of the Arts, in the first two years curriculum students mainly study various materials used in Japanese style painting and history of Japanese style painting. In the last two years, they are encouraged to acquire developed ideas and advanced knowledge required to work as professional artists and to develop the ability to lead the next generation.
